EMMA & JACK
A PASSION FOR FOOD
Originally hailing from Australia, where he trained and began his career, Chef Jack’s cooking has led him all over the world working as private Chef to F1 Racing Driver Jacques Villeneuve and Music/TV Producer Simon Fuller. Over the years Jack has cooked for an array of well known individuals including Tom Cruise, David and Victoria Beckham, Annie Lennox, Gordon Ramsey and Michael Caine to name just a few.
Emma grew up on a farm and shooting estate in Anglesey, where the Richmond Arms' Woodcock, Snipe, Hare and Lobster is all sourced. Emma studied hotel management and catering in North Wales before moving to the South of France as a Chef on motor yachts ... where she met Jack. Emma looks after all things front of house and also has a keen eye for interior design, which is prevalent in the interior of the Richmond Arms.
They both have a passion for travel which has had and continues to have, a huge influence on the menu.
After a number of wonderful years working around the world, the couple settled back home here in West Sussex to raise their family, and to realise the ambition of starting their own business. Combining Jack’s expertise and Emma’s background in hotel management, they knew they had the perfect complementary skillset to create a thriving restaurant business.
Emma & Jack purchased The Richmond Arms, a former Greene King pub in 2010 and made extensive renovations to the property over a number of months. They reopened in 2011 with the food focused bar and restaurant that you find today and have been fortunate to have received many awards, accolades and good reviews since opening their doors.
Whilst their global travels have inspired a creative approach to their cooking, they are passionate about supporting local producers and suppliers, as well as foraging the West Sussex countryside for the freshest, native ingredients. You can read more about their food and view menu’s here.
